The Nifty IT index fell nearly 2.6%, making it the worst-performing sectoral index in early trade on Tuesday. According to a Moneycontrol report, the index hovered near a three-year low as IT stocks came under sharp selling pressure. Major IT stocks Wipro, Infosys and TCS were trading 2.2%, 1.3% and 0.4% lower, respectively, at 2:00 pm.
