Indonesia shuts 8 airports after volcano eruption

Indonesia shut eight airports, including Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta, after Mount Anak Krakatau erupted, sending ash up to 50,000 feet. A total of 1,558 flights have been delayed and 1,70,000 passengers affected. Jakarta schools shifted online, while vessels were barred within 3km of the volcano. Authorities warned further eruptions remain highly probable, but reported no tsunami risk currently.
