Six undertrial prisoners escaped from a jail in Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills district on Saturday at around 2 am, Inspector General of Prisons Jerry FK Marak said. The escapees attacked and overpowered the prison guards, the top official added. A murder accused is among those who broke out of the prison, news agency PTI reported.
