Telegram has been banned in India ahead of NEET-UG 2026 re-exam as the NTA said it was used by cheating rackets to defraud students. Telegram's message-editing feature has also been disabled till June 30, as it was used to fabricate evidence of after-the-event paper leaks. NTA called the decisions "measures of last resort", reiterating that re-exam papers haven't been leaked.
