Hero Indian captain Smit Machchhar studied textile engineering, was to join family business

Flydubai captain Smit Machchhar, who saved the lives of 174 people by tackling his co-pilot who stabbed him, studied textile engineering with an intention to join the family business. He studied management at Mumbai's Welingkar Institute of Management, where he attended an aviation seminar. He discovered flying when he was about 19 years old, Reuters reported.
