Cabinet approves ₹1,856 crore sports goods manufacturing scheme

The Union Cabinet approved a ₹1,856-crore scheme over eight years to boost sports goods manufacturing in India. It provides for four 300-acre integrated manufacturing zones, 20% CAPEX support for anchor investors, and turnover-linked incentives up to 15%. Hubs in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Meerut, and Jammu are expected to benefit, particularly the MSME sector.
