Kerala children revive Pulikali on streets during Onam in eco-friendly ways
In Kerala’s Kurampala village, a group of children is trying to bring the traditional Pulikali folk art back to the streets in an eco-friendly way. Performed during Onam, Pulikali is based on tiger hunting. Children in Kurampala are going door-to door, performing the traditional sequence for village residents, wearing tiger costumes made from dry banana leaves and carrying toy guns.
