ATM industry body CATMi has flagged a shortage in physical cash available at ATMs across India, Business Standard reported. Cash availability fell short by ₹33,000 crore and ₹40,000 crore in March and April, respectively. According to reports, this is because the interchange fee of ₹19 isn't covering bank costs, a problem compounded by rising fuel prices and new minimum-wage rules.
