UN adopts 'Correct the Map' resolution 164-1

The UN General Assembly adopted the 'Correct the Map' resolution with 164-1 votes, promoting equal-area map projections over the distortion-prone 16th-century Mercator projection. India voted in favour but urged the resolution remain technologically neutral, not endorsing any specific projection like Equal Earth, allowing countries to choose projections best suited to their needs.
