Doctors in China carried out a successful operation wherein a woman's torn-off ear was temporarily grafted onto her foot before being reattached to her head months later. The woman lost her ear and sustained severe scalp injuries in an accident. As her skull tissue needed time to heal, surgeons temporarily grafted the ear onto her foot to keep it alive.
