A retired Army soldier and another civilian belonging to Tangkhul Naga tribe were killed in Manipur’s Ukhrul district in a suspected militant attack. The attack came a day after CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh visited the district and appealed for peace between Tangkhul and Kuki communities. Relations between the two communities have been strained since violence erupted in Litan in February.
