Supreme Court on Tuesday admitted the Centre's petition to decide the legality of the Centre's Fact-Check Unit (FCU) to flag fake or misleading information relating to the government. The centre had appealed against the Bombay High Court’s September 2024 judgement that struck down the rule. However, the Bench declined the government’s request to stay the High Court’s ruling for now.
