World number two Alexander Zverev won his second straight five-setter at the US Open 2026 on Friday (IST). After defeating Italy's Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(7), 7-5, 6-4 in the men's singles first round, the 29-year-old beat France's Quentin Halys 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-7(3), 6-3 in the second round. "The performance was quite sh*t, to be honest," the German said.
