Income Tax department has issued notices to dozens of senior executives earning above ₹50 lakh annually for allegedly underreporting income and claiming unwarranted exemptions. Officials said notices were sent to executives across hospitality, IT, FMCG and engineering sectors, with several startup leaders also under the department's radar. The discrepancies were revealed during reviews of ITRs.
