What does law say about protests in India?

The right to stage a protest in India is protected under the Fundamental Right to Freedom. As part of Article 19 (1) (a) and (b), citizens have the right to "freedom of speech and expression" and to "assemble peaceably and without arms". In 1973, SC said freedom of assembly is essential for democracy, but the authority can regulate its property.
