The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre and Election Commission on a plea seeking direction that promise of freebies, made by political parties during the elections, be declared as bribes, PTI reported. The petition, which has been filed by Bengaluru resident Shashank J Sreedhara, also asked the EC to prevent political parties from making such pre-poll commitments.
