The US administration announced it will withhold over $259 million in federal Medicaid funding from Minnesota over alleged fraud and oversight failures in the Democratic-run state's Medicaid programme. Vice President JD Vance and Dr Mehmet Oz, who oversees the programme, said the funds will be paused until Minnesota submits a corrective action plan. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz criticised the move.
