China's AI chipmakers raise prices by up to 50% amid memory shortage

Chinese AI chipmakers, including Huawei and Cambricon, have raised prices for current and next-generation AI processors amid global shortage of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), Reuters reported. Huawei's Ascend 950DT has reportedly become 20-50% more expensive, while Cambricon increased prices by 20-30%. Notably, China is building domestic AI alternatives to reduce its reliance on Nvidia.
