17-yr-old flood survivor builds AI dam system to reduce flood risk

Seventeen-year-old Novain Shibu from Keralam's Thrissur developed a prototype AI-powered edge network to support dam management during challenging weather conditions, including floods. His innovation, AcoustiNode Systems, was selected among the Top 40 candidates in a Samsung-led CSR programme. Novain’s interest in floods and dams began after witnessing the devastating 2018 floods near his home.
