The government-backed Senior Citizens' Savings Scheme (SCSS) offers an annual interest rate of 8.2% for October-December 2026. Investors can deposit up to ₹30 lakh in the scheme, which has an initial tenure of five years. A ₹30 lakh deposit can earn ₹61,500/quarter, amounting to ₹2.46 lakh annually.
