Dialling wrong number, maybe you should protest: CJI on plea to rotate SC-ST reserved seats

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant told a petitioner seeking mandatory rotation of SC/ST-reserved constituencies that he was "dialling the wrong number" and joked that it was a season of protests. The Supreme Court rejected the plea, saying Parliament alone could introduce such a system. The petitioner had challenged the decades-long reservation of UP's Kadipur Assembly constituency for SCs.
