19-year-old booked for abetting suicide of girlfriend in Mumbai

A 19-year-old college student has been booked for allegedly abetting the suicide of his girlfriend in Mumbai. The victim's parents suspected foul play after finding out about the alleged harassment of their daughter through messages on her phone. The accused and the victim had allegedly gone on a college trip to Uttarakhand in February where the harassment took place.

"The producer had the authorities pull the film down from 600 sites last night, but the harm had been done. India became the first responder and launched 'Operation Brahma' after at least 1,600 people died after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar. India sent rescue personnel to Nay Pyi Taw to help Myanmar officials in rescue operations. It also sent humanitarian aid, including essential medicines and ready-to-eat meals. A 118-member Indian Army Field Hospital unit was also sent from Agra.

Death toll due to 7.7-magnitude Myanmar earthquake crosses 1,600

Death toll from the massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake that jolted Myanmar on Friday crossed 1,600, the country's ruling junta said. The number of injured people rose to 3,408 and death toll hit 1,644 in about 30 hours since the earthquake. About 140 people are still missing in Myanmar while 50 people remain trapped under the collapsed high-rise building in Thailand's Bangkok.

Another earthquake measuring 5.1 was recorded in Myanmar on Saturday, a day after a massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake killed over 1,000 people and injured hundreds. The quake struck at a depth of 10 km and its epicentre was located 19 km southwest of the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw. Epicentre of Friday's earthquake was recorded near Mandalay.

A small Socata TBM 700 plane crashed into homes in US' Minneapolis on Saturday and none of its passengers are expected to have survived the crash, officials said. Multiple videos that surfaced online showed the moment the plane crashed into the home, which caught fire following the crash. None of the home's residents were injured in the incident, officials added.

Senior IPS office dies in head-on collision with bus in Telangana

Dr Sudhakar Pathare, senior IPS officer and Deputy Commissioner with the Mumbai Police, died after his SUV was involved in a head-on collision with a bus in Telangana. His relative, identified as Bhagwat Khodake, also died in the accident. Police said that they are looking into reports claiming the deceased were not wearing seatbelts.
