Maharashtra adds 40 more talukas to drought-hit list, total rises to 305

Maharashtra Cabinet has approved adding 40 more talukas to the drought-hit list, taking the total to 305. "Drought was declared in 265 talukas...but there were demands from various areas to include more talukas on the drought-hit list. After reviewing the reports, the state Cabinet decided to add 40 more talukas," CM Devendra Fadnavis said. The state has 358 talukas.
