Punjab to get rid of AAP, starting with Ludhiana (W) bypoll: Ashu

Congress bypoll candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu called the AAP government an 'aapda' (disaster) that struck Punjab three years ago and which the public will get rid of, starting with dethroning it from the Ludhiana West assembly seat. The seat fell vacant following the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in January. The bypoll will take place on June 19.

The Indian men's volleyball team thrashed Pakistan in a CAVA Nations League match in Uzbekistan. India registered a 25-15, 25-19, 25-23 win over Pakistan. An Indian player celebrated by running across the court with the national flag. India had earlier withdrawn from the competition as it was scheduled to be held in Pakistan. The tournament was later shifted to Uzbekistan.

Russia & Ukraine talks, held a day after drone attack, end in barely an hour

The peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, which were held a day after Ukraine launched multiple drones to destroy nearly 40 Russian military aircraft, ended in barely an hour, Turkish officials said. The second round of talks began two hours later than scheduled. Ukraine said both sides agreed to return the bodies of 6,000 fallen soldiers each.

NEET PG 2025 postponed

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer was fined ₹24 lakh, while MI captain Hardik Pandya was fined ₹30 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2. It was PBKS' second over-rate offence of the season and MI's third offence of the season. PBKS defeated MI by five wickets to reach their second IPL final.

Heinrich Klaasen retires from international cricket

India's active COVID-19 case tally nears 4,000-mark

The number of active coronavirus infections in India has reached 3,961, Health Ministry data showed on Monday. The number of coronavirus-linked deaths has reached 32, with four deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 1,435, followed by Maharashtra at 506, Delhi at 483 and Gujarat at 338.

The 36-year-old said, "It feels like it's a tiring affair just to get through the 50 overs...and then going out there and trying to perform with the bat as well. Maxwell scored 3,990 runs and took 77 wickets in 149 ODI matches.

Rajeev Shukla likely to become next BCCI President: Reports

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya teared up and crouched in disappointment after MI were knocked out of IPL 2025 by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 2. A video of the same has gone viral on social media. MI pacer Jasprit Bumrah walked up and pulled Hardik to his feet. Pandya was also consoled by PBKS' Marcus Stoinis.
