Congress bypoll candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu called the AAP government an 'aapda' (disaster) that struck Punjab three years ago and which the public will get rid of, starting with dethroning it from the Ludhiana West assembly seat. The seat fell vacant following the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in January. The bypoll will take place on June 19.

The peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, which were held a day after Ukraine launched multiple drones to destroy nearly 40 Russian military aircraft, ended in barely an hour, Turkish officials said. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the NEET PG 2025 entrance exam. The exam was originally scheduled to take place on June 15. The decision follows a directive from Supreme Court, which instructed that the examination be conducted in a single shift to ensure transparency and fairness.

The number of coronavirus-linked deaths has reached 32, with four deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. The 36-year-old said, "It feels like it's a tiring affair just to get through the 50 overs...and then going out there and trying to perform with the bat as well. BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla is set to become the next BCCI President, as per reports. He will assume the role of acting president for three months after current BCCI President Roger Binny turns 70 on July 19, reports added. Shukla is then expected to formally run for the post during the AGM scheduled in September, reports said.
