EAM S Jaishankar, discussing US' changing stance on tariffs, said, "I mean it is on-off, on-off, do it when it suits us, don't do it when it doesn't suit us." He stated US asked India to buy Russian oil in 2022 to stabilise the markets. Jaishankar added US then imposed tariffs on India for buying Russian oil, before lifting it.
