Nasdaq Global Indexes on Friday announced that retail giant Walmart will join the Nasdaq 100 Index on January 20. Walmart will replace biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca on the exchange after the stock’s retreat from its pandemic-era peak, when its Covid-19 vaccine propelled the drugmaker into the index. Last year Walmart shifted its stock listing from New York Stock Exchange to Nasdaq.
