Over 1,000 construction sites in Mumbai were issued stop-work notices between October 2025 and January 2026 for violating environmental norms, state minister Pankaja Munde said. She added that 1,952 of the 2,224 active sites — nearly 88% — have installed low-cost air quality sensors. Munde said Mumbai’s AQI levels remain satisfactory at 51–100 and moderate at 101–200.
