Indian men, women win their second-round matches at Chess Olympiad

India registered victories in both the Open and Women's sections in Round 2 of the Chess Olympiad 2026 in Uzbekistan's Samarkand on Thursday. The men's team defeated Indonesia 2.5-1.5, with Nihal Sarin beating Arif Abdul Hafiz, while Gukesh D, R Praggnanandhaa and Vidit Gujrathi drew their games. Meanwhile, the women's team defeated Finland 3.5-0.5 in the second round.
