Micron Technology, AMD, and SanDisk's shares plunged by up to 15% after reports claiming DeepSeek will manufacture its AI chips. AMD and Micron fell 9%, while SanDisk dropped 14%. This would allow DeepSeek to rely less on Nvidia and Huawei chips, which it uses to train and run AI models. Huawei currently controls 50% of China's $50-billion AI chip market.
