India's first-ever 'hybrid pitch' was unveiled at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association stadium on Monday. The hybrid pitch combines natural turf with synthetic fibres. With only 5% synthetic fibres, pitch ensures natural characteristics essential for cricket are preserved. The fibres are injected at 2cm x 2cm at 9 cm below surface level and up to 1 cm above the surface.
