Starbucks has appointed Indian-origin techie Anand Varadarajan as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective January 19. He will fill the role after Deb Hall Lefevre stepped down in September, following which Ningyu Chen served as interim CTO. Varadarajan joins after a 19-year stint at Amazon, where he oversaw technology and supply chain operations for its global grocery business.
