How did rule change after Hughes' death lead to dismissal that helped Kerala reach Ranji final?
short by Anmol Sharma / on Friday, 21 February, 2025
Kerala reached Ranji Trophy final for first time after securing two-run first-innings lead against Gujarat in semi-final. This came after Kerala took Gujarat's last wicket after ball rebounded off short-leg fielder's helmet to the slip fielder. ICC had amended the rule after Phillip Hughes' death, allowing dismissals, including catches and stumpings, even if ball deflects off a fielder's helmet.
