San Francisco-based AI startup Perplexity is developing an AI coding tool "Teammate" to compete with Claude Code, Cursor and OpenAI's Codex, as per reports. The tool can reportedly manage engineering work and monitoring services from start to finish. The assistant is expected to integrate with Perplexity's Comet browser, although no official public launch timeline has been announced.
