Member of PM's Economic Advisory Council, Professor Shamika Ravi, shared a map comparing India's poverty levels in 2011-12 and 2023-24. According to the map, poverty in India has reduced from 29.5% to 3.9% in the same period. Several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and many north-eastern states, saw their poverty levels plunge sharply.
