Nainital Police seized the car of BJP MLA Rajendra Patel's son, trying to make way through traffic, blaring a loud hooter. The car was directly behind SDM Nawazish Khaliq, who initially gave way, assuming an emergency or presence of a senior official. However, when the siren continued, the SDM intervened and stopped it, following which the police issued a challan.
