After Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin criticised government over its three-language policy, BJP leader Amit Laviya called Stalin a hypocrite. "In 2015...MK Stalin assured the Muslim community that Urdu would be made compulsory in schools if DMK were voted to power," Malviya said. "If DMK is determined to undermine Indian languages...how is the imposition of Urdu acceptable?" he added.

CBSE to conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year from 2026

CBSE on Tuesday approved draft norms to conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year from 2026. As per the norms, the first phase of the exams will be conducted from February 17 to March 6, while the second phase will be conducted from May 5 to 20, reports said. The norms will be put in public domain for feedback.

Manchester United to close staff canteen to cut costs

This comes after Manchester United recently decided to make 200 jobs redundant to "return the club to profitability". Notably, about 250 members of Manchester United staff were made redundant last year to cut costs.

Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar, who was convicted for killing a father-son duo during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a special court. Police had earlier sought death penalty for Kumar. He is also serving a life sentence in another anti-Sikh riots case in Delhi Cantt.

They achieved it by chasing down Australia's 434, the first-ever 400-plus men's ODI total, at Johannesburg on March 12, 2006. Both teams scored a combined 872, the highest match aggregate in ODI history. South Africa will face Australia in Champions Trophy 2025 today.

The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday issued a stay order on the age fraud investigations against badminton player Lakshya Sen after the shuttler filed a special leave petition. The Karnataka High Court had, on Monday, permitted continuation of proceedings against Lakshya, his parents, brother Chirag Sen, and coach Vimal Kumar. The matter will now be heard on April 16.
Man who killed 4 family members & girlfriend with hammer used drugs, say police

Police confirmed that they have found "evidence of drug use" by the 23-year-old who killed four of his family members and his girlfriend using a hammer in Kerala. "The exact nature of the drug can be ascertained only after scientific examination," PTI quoted a police officer as saying. He went to police after the murders and surrendered.
