India's first "High-Altitude Wildlife Safari" is set to begin in Ladakh, with LG VK Saxena directing the Forest Department to guide wildlife safaris on snow leopard and bird-watching trails in high-altitude areas. Local youths will be trained as guides and equipped with binoculars. This would prevent incidents of illegal off-roading and disturbing wildlife, and strengthen eco-friendly tourism.
