Ex-West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's 28-year-old niece Bristy Mukherjee, who was found dead at her residence, had been battling depression for past few years and was receiving medical treatment. She was among those who lost their job in March 2023 after Supreme Court scrapped recruitment in alleged 'cash-for-jobs' case. Bristy was daughter of Mamata's cousin, Nihar Mukherjee.
