India seeks faster EU approval for domestic CBAM verifiers
India is pushing the EU for faster recognition of domestic carbon-emissions verifiers under CBAM. Six Indian agencies have applied as verifiers, with the government targeting at least 10. India is also working to ensure carbon prices paid domestically are credited against CBAM liabilities abroad. Indian exporters must begin filing CBAM returns by September 2027.
