Germany demands $450 bn cut to 'unaffordable' €2 tn EU budget

Germany has demanded a €400 billion ($456 billion) cut to the European ​Commission's proposed budget of €2 trillion for ‌2028-2034, calling the plan "unaffordable", Reuters reported. The budget needs to be passed by all ⁠27 members, and Germany has warned, "as it stands, an agreement is impossible". The proposed budget sees a sharp rise from the previous €1.3 trillion budget.
