45 tigers die in Madhya Pradesh till August 2026: Report

At least 45 tigers have died in Madhya Pradesh in the first eight months of 2026, while 22 people were killed in tiger attacks during the same period, NDTV reported. Out of 22 people, 14 died in the densely forested Mahakoshal region, popularly associated with the forests that inspired the world of Mowgli in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book.
