Up to 5 cups of coffee a day is safe: American Heart Association

A scientific statement by American Heart Association (AHA) based on multiple studies said most adults can consume up to 400 mg of caffeine per day, equivalent to up to five cups of coffee without sugar or fillers, without increasing cardiovascular risk. It added black caffeinated coffee has been associated with lower risk of Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
