Recursive self-improvement (RSI) is a process in which an AI system autonomously designs and develops its own successor, with little to no human intervention. OpenAI warned that humans risk losing control over AI development if RSI is pursued without proper caution. "From here, AI could become...less aligned, and, on the whole, a danger to people," it said.
