Out of the 19 workers killed in an explosion at an explosive factory near Nagpur, 16 were women—the youngest 28, the oldest 55. They had left their homes early on March 1 for an eight-hour morning shift, the reason why many of them chose to work there. Of them, some were single mothers and sole breadwinners, The Indian Express reported.
