GST Council to meet Sept 12, may focus on GST registration changes

The 57th GST Council meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, will be held in New Delhi on September 12. The meeting comes after GST was restructured into 5% and 18% slabs, with a 40% rate for sin and ultra-luxury goods. The council may discuss easing registration for businesses passing on ₹2.5 lakh monthly tax credit and automating registration cancellations.
