Karnataka hikes minimum wage for labourers by 60%

Karnataka Minister Santosh Lad said minimum wages for labourers in the state have been increased by 60%. In Greater Bengaluru, the minimum wage has been fixed at ₹23,376 for unskilled workers and ₹31,114 for highly skilled workers. Outside Bengaluru, minimum wages for unskilled workers will range between ₹19,300 and ₹21,251. The revised wages will apply to 81 scheduled employments.
