WHO extends travel restrictions on Pak due to concerns over polio

World Health Organization (WHO) has decided to extend travel restrictions on Pakistan for three months due to concerns over polio. The decision was taken in WHO Emergency Committee’s 41st meeting. The committee’s findings stated Pakistan and Afghanistan continue to pose a threat to global polio eradication efforts. It expressed concern over the spread of wild poliovirus in both nations.

Type 5 diabetes is malnutrition-related diabetes that typically affects lean, malnourished teens and young adults in low- and middle-income countries. It is estimated to affect 2 to 2.5 crore people worldwide, mainly in Asia and Africa.

The world's first all-female civilian crew has completed their 10-minute space journey onboard Blue Origin's New Shepard. The crew includes Blue Origin Founder Jeff Bezos' fiancee Lauren Sanchez, American singer Katy Perry, film producer Kerianne Flynn, journalist Gayle King, scientist Amanda Nguyễn and ex-NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe. The rocket reached a maximum height of over 345,000 feet.

Fresh violence erupted in West Bengal after Indian Secular Front workers protesting against Waqf (Amendment) Act clashed with police in South 24 Parganas' Bhangar. They set several vehicles on fire and turned a police van. This comes days after violence by anti-Waqf Act protestors in Murshidabad that forced several Hindu families to flee from their homes.

FTC alleges Meta bought Instagram and WhatsApp to eliminate competition, effectively giving itself a monopoly. Meta said it faces ample competition in social media, and that regulators approved the acquisitions at the time.

The team of the scientists developed a material that mimics the environment needed for tooth development, allowing cells to send signals and begin forming a tooth.
