Switzerland is considering legalising recreational cannabis as a parliamentary commission proposed a regulated sales and access framework. The draft proposal, adopted by the lower house's health commission with 14 votes in favour, nine against, and two abstentions, seeks to grant adults strictly controlled access. Cannabis can currently be purchased legally in Switzerland for medical use.
