Microfinance sector must moderate growth: IIM-B professor

IIM Bangalore Professor MS Sriram warned that rapid microfinance growth has caused debt distress in parts of India due to over-lending and multiple borrowing. Speaking at the 21st National Conference on Inclusive Growth, he urged responsible lending practices and noted RBI's concerns over whether sector benefits are reaching low-income borrowers.
