Offshore banks tighten credit card access for wealthy Indians: Report
Offshore banks are increasingly refusing to issue or renew international credit cards for wealthy Indians, citing tighter Indian rules on overseas accounts, The Economic Times reported. A 2022 RBI regulation restricts resident Indians from keeping idle funds in foreign accounts beyond six months. The rule was introduced alongside changes to overseas investment norms and $250,000 annual LRS limit.
